Sun, 19 Jun 2011 13:36:00 -0700 a future alternative to landfill? http://mylessmyth.posterous.com/a-future-alternative-to-landfill http://mylessmyth.posterous.com/a-future-alternative-to-landfill

space, the final frontier?

well perhaps not, maybe one day it could become useful to us humans. Once we have finally stuffed the earth full of discarded packaging perhaps we should invent a rocket (or maybe use bransons) to fire up through the atmosphere (packed with rubbish). then we have 2 options - let it float through space for eternity or direct it back towards earth so it can burn up in the atmosphere.

yes financially it'll be expensive, but in terms of protecting the earth/soil and everything on it will it turn out to be socially expensive?

now that you've read this see this link below:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-13795156 and apologies to those in the USA, apparently you have to watch an ad made by the bbc first, which was apparently paid for by quatar (you know, the ones who cheated to host the world cup)

Sun, 12 Jun 2011 08:08:00 -0700 vroom- to silverstone for the 2011 Grand prix, 3g iOS5 and more http://mylessmyth.posterous.com/vroom-to-silverstone-for-the-2011-grand-prix http://mylessmyth.posterous.com/vroom-to-silverstone-for-the-2011-grand-prix

soon ill be heading over the water and back again to see this years f1 at silverstone. i may post updates, photos after the event. i say after because its better to savour the atmosphere while your there rather than spend your time fiddling with "gadgets."

speaking of which, with iOS5 for the iphone coming out soon, its a pity it wont be available on the 3g. There's nothing wrong with the 3g, sure it may be a bit slower but do you really need a phone that gets no signal (iphone 4) or a digital compass (3gs). I think in the interests of equality and human rights quite possibly that the 3g should be included in the update...otherwise i shall be writing to them to refund some of the tens of pounds i have spent on the phone. i shall let you know how i get on

and finally, - space, the final frontier? http://l.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/K8keFTySkFpMz5HNlE4OVQ--/YXBwaWQ9eW5ld3M7Zmk...

just a thought maybe if every country worked together we could actually use the 'international space centre' and explore more of space.. is it a waste of money? no - everything about space is interesting, W5 springs to mind - who, what, where, when and especially why?

Fri, 03 Jun 2011 03:40:00 -0700 for the first time ever more people live in cities than rural areas http://mylessmyth.posterous.com/for-the-first-time-ever-more-people-live-in-c http://mylessmyth.posterous.com/for-the-first-time-ever-more-people-live-in-c

this presents challenges to both cities - how do we provide a decent standard of living for those in cities - housing, transport, clean air, work, recreation...but also in rural areas - how do we provide services to a declining population?

Thu, 19 May 2011 03:07:00 -0700 the furture state of our cities? http://mylessmyth.posterous.com/the-furture-state-of-our-cities http://mylessmyth.posterous.com/the-furture-state-of-our-cities

now that our cities are being filled to the brim, and pressure on the green belt ever increasing.. how we manage the space and spaces in between is becoming the most important factor in planning today. *my words, not anyone else* This video, produced in 2009 aims to show what LA would be like if cars were banned from downtown. Ok ok the source (treehugger) doesn't inspire too much hope and im not anti-car by any means btw but perhaps we should be looking to understand the needs of vehicles within the urban context a lot more.

share your thoughts below;

Thu, 12 May 2011 09:17:00 -0700 First past the post http://mylessmyth.posterous.com/first-past-the-post http://mylessmyth.posterous.com/first-past-the-post

First post: Thanks for stopping by, im hoping that this venture can be a bit more successful than twitter. 150 characters is really not very helpful and im sure most people couldnt really care what i had for breakie this morning. Anyway, I'll try to keep my posts to the point, less rambling is a good thing in some instances. I'll also try to update it regularly with new features, links and much more. Im contributing to another blog too so be sure to check that out too: http://edwardcheng.posterous.com

feel free to comment, I may write things which you may not agree with but please dont let this descend into youtube style commenting (as funny as it is).

cheers

ms
